Welcome
The School of Computing, Telecommunications and Networks (CTN) prides itself on the provision of well-balanced and well thought out courses that prepare students for the demands of the 21st Century workplace. Housed within our city centre campus at Millenium Point, the School runs high-quality academic subject disciplines such as electronics, embedded systems, telecommunications, networks, software engineering and games technology.
The School has been instrumental in the development and delivery of both vocational and non-vocational learning, whilst leading the development and use of blended distance teaching and learning approaches over the last decade.
We have excellent and very well-established links with industry and commerce, which enable our students at all levels to learn from industry specialists, as well as apply their knowledge directly in the field. The School has developed a formidable record for its high quality, value-added education for students on both full-time and part-time courses and also prides itself on delivering industrial-based academic and vocational courses for commerce and business which include professional short courses.
With the recent challenges and interests in interdisciplinary technologies, the School has addressed these requirements by seeking industrial collaborations to create innovative and exciting new courses, such as Forensics Computing and Game Technologies.
We are fully committed to the overall student experience and provide both academic and pastoral care. If you would like to visit us in person, you are
most welcome at any of our Open Days or on a pre-arranged visit. Mak Sharma, Acting Head, School of Computing, Telecommunications & Networks
